A paper by João Reis is distinguished in brazilian journal of operations & production

Professor in Industrial Engineering and Management and EIGeS researcher João Reis sees his article distinguished as one of the best papers at the XXVI International Congress of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IJCIEOM21), which was accepted for publication in the Journal of Operations & Production Management.

This distinction is related to scientific advances on the influence of artificial intelligence on public employment, but also on the impact it will have on political decision-making. The results of the article suggest the creation of conditions and acceleration of the legislative regulation of AI technologies, which does not mean placing barriers to the use of AI technologies, quite the opposite.

In addition, the policy must be concerned with creating opportunities that increase citizen participation and respective adequacy to political decision-making based on data processing by the AI.
