Researchers of EIGeS participate in the project “PHYTOAPP”, financed by the MARIE SLOWASKA-CURIE ACTIONS

Professor Sergiy Lyubchyk (Coordinator), Professor Svitlana Lyubchyk (Principal Investigator), and Professor José Oliveira Santos (Team Leader) are researchers of the EIGeS that are participating in the project 101007642 H2020-MSCA-RISE Innovative Water-Soluble Phytomaterial Inhibitors for Alzheimers and Parkinsons Diseases Prevention, Programme "PEOPLE" – Call ID “H2020-MSCA-RISE-2020.

This project is a consortium that brings together the following institutions: NOVA id FCT (Portugal, Project Leader); EIGeS of Lúsofona University (Portugal), Sydansk Universitet (Denmark), PME NEUROPLAST BV (The Netherlands), and PME NANOTECH Center (Ukraine). The following institutions are partners of this project: BSU (Belarus), KKSU (Kazakhstan), and RII (Russia).

The main objectives of the PHYTOAPP project are the design, development and delivery of the innovative water-soluble Phytochemical Inhibitors for Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases prevention.

The participation of EIGeS in this project will occur during the scaling up production, in pilot laboratories. Its main role is to study the required certifications by the official medical authorities as well as the European Directive 91/356/EEC that lay down the principles and guidelines of good manufacturing practice for medicinal products for human use.

It is also a mission o EiGeS to study the basic requirements for facilities and equipment, to conduct risk management analysis, and to perform quality control during the pilot production phase, in order to achieve compliant nanopharmaceutical products that are acceptable for additional clinical tests.
